With the change of the school year, ChildDiary has also brought new features for its users.

We share this summary of everything that's different on the platform and step-by-step instructions on how to use the new features.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

The child can belong to several groups at the same time

It may be a school dynamic for a child to belong to more than one group. This feature can be used to include Extracurricular Activities, for example, in the ChildDiary dynamic.

The educator or management profile can make this change.

Here's how you can add the same child to more than one Group.

Note 1: This new group will be considered a Secondary Group. This child's Main Group continues to be the room with the Educator, the ‘2 Toddlers Classroom’.

Note 2: The child's entry/exit record using the QR Codes will be recorded in the child's Primary Group. To record entries/exits in a Secondary group, you will have to use the manual form. Here's how to record your child's attendance.

Moving several children at once?

With the start of the school year comes the need to move more than one child quickly!

Here's how you can transfer children from one classroom to another in bulk.

New way of consulting the child's Portfolio

With the possibility of a child being in more than one group at the same time, the organisation of information (the child's Portfolio) has undergone a structural change.

In order for the current educator to be able to consult the shares that were created in the child's previous group, the Educator has the option to ‘View other groups of the child’ active. Changing this setting must be done via the Management Profile.

Here's how to do it.

Increased validity of QR Codes for family members WITHOUT access

The Educator, Management or Secretary profiles can generate QR Code cards for family members WITHOUT access to ChildDiary.

This non-transferable card is valid for 7 years from the date it is generated.

See more about QR codes here.

History as home page

When you enter your classroom, you now go directly to the classroom history.

This change allows you to quickly consult shared content, the day's birthdays and the number of children present in the school.
